    Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil  blamed “cheap propaganda designed in the laboratories of the US Southern Command” for the alleged incidents

    Following Georgetown's complaints, Caracas' Bolivarian regime said Friday that the Guyana Defense Force's (GDF) alleged attacks along the Cuyuní River were a “false flag operation” designed to portray themselves as the victim and create artificial tensions.

    Guyana reports attacks from Venezuelan side along Cuyuni River

    The attacks occur amid ongoing tensions over Venezuela's claim to Guyana’s Essequibo region

    The Guyanese Government has condemned multiple armed attacks along the Cuyuni River by armed men in civilian clothing firing from the Venezuelan side of the river between Eteringbang and Makapa, in which no injuries were reported. According to Georgetown, Guyana's Defense Force (GDF) responded appropriately and continues to protect the country's territorial integrity.
